Sewage ejector pumps, or sewage grinder pumps, are designed to pump residential or household sewage or blackwater to a destination such as an elevated septic tank or to a city sewer (for homes whose lower baths are at a depth below the level of their sewer line). Important tips - The Length of the horizontal pipe is also an important factor when choosing a sewage or grinder pump. Every 10’ of pipe equals the same restrictions as 1’ of lift. The shut off means that is the maximum height that the sewage or grinder pump will lift. So you will get "0" flow at the shut off height.
